Seminar on Modern Etiquette

Beauty for All Seasons Convention
Ruth Kern was a guest speaker January 21, 1999 at the international convention for the company, Beauty for All Seasons which was held in Tenerif, one of the Canary Islands. Beauty for All Seasons has over 5,000 reps around the world selling high quality cosmetics and skin care products. It also has a very advanced computerized color system which analyzes the exact colors that are best for a person to wear.
In addition to helping clients improve their outer appearance, the reps for this company are interested in helping them improve their overall image and one of the most important ways of improving one's image is to know proper etiquette.
Ruth met John Galazin, the president and CEO of the company, at her AICI convention in Miami in July of 1998 where he invited her to speak about Modern Etiquette at his company’s convention.
After the seminar, John and Ruth posed for a publicity shot. Ruth had set up a table with a place setting that would have been like a first class place setting on the ship Titanic. The attendees of the seminar were given a diagram of the place setting and asked to identify all of the utensils, glasses, etc. At the end of the seminar, Ruth went over the list so that the women could check their "etiquette expertise."
Ruth accepts congratulations from Cheryl Elliott, Manager of Field Communications and Sales Promotion, who coordinated the seminar. Ruth, as usual, wears one of her signature hats!
Ruth is meeting one of the women who attended her seminar. Most of the attendees were from Europe and quite a few of them were from eastern Europe, countries like Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and other countries that were formally in the Soviet Union. There were headphones available for people who needed translations and translations were being given in six different languages. The only challenge for Ruth was to try to talk more slowly than usual. Not always easy for her!
After the seminar, the women crowded around Ruth with questions. She tried to answer them as quickly as she could!
There were so many questions and so much interest in Modern Etiquette that the next speaker had to wait until the crowd once again sat down. All in all, it was a wonderful experience for Ruth to be able to represent "modern America" and to be able to speak about etiquette for this wonderful international group of people!
