In preparation for a dinner party, Ruth has set her dining room table using the handmade tablecloth that she purchased in Portugal, the crystal and mother of pearl silverware that once belonged to her grandmother and the cobalt blue china that she found in an antique store.
Fresh flowers adorn the table and display cabinet in the dining room. Ruth is wearing one of her favorite 'hostess' outfits.
Ruth Kern has produced two videos, 'Modern American Dining and Entertaining Etiquette' and 'Etiquette for a Formal Dinner in Your Home.' These videos are being shown on cable television stations in the Chicago area as well as in etiquette training classes and universities nationally and internationally.
The first video, 'Modern American Dining and Entertaining Etiquette' is even being shown at the Peng Cheng University in Xuzhou, China! It is being used to teach Chinese students about American table manners.
Ruth is now producing a television series which will be titled, Elegant Entertaining. If you would like to be a part of this series, send a photo or a video of a party that you have hosted. If you do not have either a photo or a video of one of your parties, set your dining room table in the most 'elegant' way you can think of and send it to Ruth. All photos and videos should be sent to:
